Since kindergarten my son has been absent on STAAR days. He is now in 5th and will be absent again this year. Killeen ISD

El Paso ISD - opted out in 4th grade (last year) with zero issues. This year, will be opting out of 5th grade.

Comal ISD - We have never taken the STAAR (oldest 6th grade- youngest 5th) and will be opting out again this year!

Allen ISD and first year opting out - 5th and 3rd grade. Already talked to principle and boys will be staying home on simulation assessment days and STAAR assessment days.

My 10th grade son hasn’t taken the assessment in years, enrolled in RICE CISD, my daughter graduated IGC after refusing.
New principal, so we will see how it goes this year.
